omhper (10163), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 21, 2008 Updated: Apr 28, 2008 Bottled, thanks ante! Muddy dark yellow, small creamy head. Almondy orangey nose. Sweet and medium-full bodied. Plenty of orangey, resiny hops and crystalized sugar. Evident almondy yeast character. Very bitter, almost inky finish. A rude beer with lots of character, not shy in any way.
Bov (4566), Bienne, Switzerland Aug 8, 2008 courtesy of Tony Flükiger - cloudy dark orange colour with a persistent slightly beige foam; solid hoppy nose showing notes of oranges, pepper, almonds and sugar; full-bodied with a subtle but solid carbonation; some sweetness before a heavy bitterness; quite dry and very bitter finish with more oranges, spices and almonds - a beer with a powerful character jerohen (1461), Bussum, Netherlands Aug 6, 2008 Bottled at home. Orange coloured, thick lasting white head, beautiful. Very spicy nose, some hops but not much. Extremely spicy flavour, some yeast, caramel, cloying. Very bitter flavour. Overly spiced cloyingly bitter beer, absolutely not my thing. But it does look nice. harrisoni (5050), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 4, 2008 Bottle at Chris_o Pre GBBF Shindig 08. Cloudy pale gold. Lasting beige head. Some yeast, it’s ok, it’s got some hop, good hop sting on the end. Some earthiness. Hops are good, but too earthy. Flakey golden, thick white head. Alcoholic, delicate fruity aroma, not that much hops. Reminds me of La Chouffe. Flavor is much in the same vein; fruits, stronger hops, sweet malts, yeast, clean grapefruit bitterness. Nothing extreme, nor too exciting. Medium to full bodied, smooth strongly carbonated palate.
