Commercial Description:
A dark and heavy ale - the strongest that the brewery has ever produced - in which three varieties of malt and two spices are utilised. It is brewed "in honour of" the Burgundian Babble Belt, a well known web-site on the Internet, where beer lovers can exchange all sorts of information.

Bottle. Poured a hazy amber color with a whipped looking off white head. Red vines, Tropical Life Savers, toasted malt aroma. Light on the flavor up front with a nice toffee finish. Alcohol is evident. Nice heavy body. Enjoyed this pretty good.

Bottle. Poured a hazy brown with a large frothy light brown head that was fully lasting and produced good lacing. Heavy malt, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Full balanced fruity bittersweet flavor with the same long finish with a very small alcohol tone. Good well balanced warmng brew.

Mahogany and slightly hazy with a nice head and lace. The aroma has a lot of malt, dark fruits, plum and raisin. The flavour is sweetish and has the same notes as the aroma plus other fruits. The finish has citrussy notes.

Not my favorite. The caramel color is inviting, but the taste, not at all my favorite. I think the beer is way too carbonated. I am not pleased with the taste. It has a sharp and spicy taste. Not much head, but a decent beer that I can actually finish. I do not see how this is rated as high as it is. Now, that I think about it after seeing some other posts I can taste the fig flavor that this beer "has."

From a 11.2 Belgian stubby bottle with no freshness date, sampled at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Poured a cloudy orangey amber with a frothy, foamy off-white head, good retention, small amount of laced sticking. Aromas of raisins, plums, apples and berries, Belgian spices, sweet caramelized malts, and whiffs of fusel alcohol. Good even carbonation and a crisp, dry, creamy smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel. A decent tasting quad, raisins, plums and green grapes, clove, spicy, brown caramelized sugar, the fruity flavors meshes with a fusel alcohol towards the end, warming in the back of the palate, and a dry, softly bitter, fruity, sweet malty finish. The light body makes this a challenging sipper, quite easy to gulp if your not careful, if you like the other ales from this brewer then you will find this worth trying.

Very Cloudy Diluted Chocolate Color with Cream Ring. Alot of Particulates. Rich Syrapy Malt Aroma. Very Sweet with Light Spices, Apricot and Fig Notes as Well. Stong Syrapy, Almost Astringent Malt Taste..leans a Bit Towards the Sour Brown Side of Life...Bittering Spices..Grapey Fruit Tang...Light Drying Malt Aftertaste. Very Enjoyable Strong Ale and Balances Alcohol Well, Considering it’s 12%.

Pours a two finger light tan head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color, ton of yeast in bottom of bottle. Light carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Cognac/raisiny nose. Starts sweet and raisiny, smooth, high ABV is barely noticeable. Their Dubbel is very similar. $4.49 for a 330ml bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, Ia.
