Commercial Description:
A dark and heavy ale - the strongest that the brewery has ever produced - in which three varieties of malt and two spices are utilised. It is brewed "in honour of" the Burgundian Babble Belt, a well known web-site on the Internet, where beer lovers can exchange all sorts of information.

Robe ambrée légèrement voilée surmontée d’une mousse blanche mince. Arômes d’alcool et de caramel. Saveurs de fruits rouges, d’alcool, de levures et d’herbes amérisantes.

Slight cream colored head with a bit of lace and some floaties. Aroma of dried figs and lots of malt. Crisp mouthfeel with slightly sour aftertaste. Although I can taste the alcohol a bit, it’s hard to believe this is 12%.

A lazy gusher. Hazy rusty-brown body with a moderate-sized, clingy beige head. Aroma of sweet maple, caramel, figs, leather, and dark rum. Sweet malty flavor with pleasant dried fruit characters as well as a nutty aspect. Medium-full body and velvety texture. Overall, this is a nice BIG Belgian beer.

Pours a cloudy brown with very small floaties and tons of ruby red when held to the light. Average creamy off white head that left some nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, green apple, Belgian yeast and spices, candi sugar, sweet caramel malt, toasty. Flavor was also very fruity, with prunes, various spices and Belgian yeast. Also a lot of candi sweetness, more green apple, some caramel and toasted malts. On the dry side some more hop bitterness than other Belgians Ales. Alcohol rather well hidden for a 12% ale.

Brown bottle, 11,2 onces; eye: dark amber with burnt orange reflections, hazy, thick beige head that leaves an abundant lacing; nose: alcohol, Belgian yeast, grapefruit, peppery caramel; mouth: powerful, alcohol, syrupy, slightly grainy caramelized malt, candied fruits, finale in alcohol with the presence of hops and quite a bit of pepper, full body, creamy and alcoholic texture, mildly sweet, lightly bitter, full body, good carbonation, lightly astringent; overall: too much alcohol to fully enjoy FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 11,2 onces; oeil : ambrée foncée avec des reflets orange brûlé, voilée, mousse beige épaisse qui laisse une dentelle abondante; nez : alcool, levure typiquement belge, pamplemousse, caramel poivré; bouche : puissant, alcool, liquoreux, malt caramélisé légèrement granuleux, fruits confits, finale en alcool avec une petite présence de houblon et pas mal de poivre, corsée, texture crémeuse et alcoolique, moyennement sucrée, légèrement amère, corsée, bonne carbonatation, légère astringence; en résumé : l’alcool est un peu trop présente pour en jouir pleinement

Bottle: Poured a deep clear amber color ale with a super huge foamy head with perfect retention and lacing. Aroma of light dry fruits with some semi-sweet malt and some Belgian yeast characteristics. Taste is also a mix between some subtle dry fruits and some malt with a yeasty finish. Carbonation is great with above average body and no alcohol was discernable. I found that this was lacking in spices or character and kind of end up being slightly boring.

my second time around with this beer. the first time i got a bad bottle(flat). murky brown with a small creamy tan head. thick, viscous looking pour. aroma of caramel, raisins, and peanuts. flavor is similar to the aroma with the addition of plum, grape, flowers. not as full bodied as it looks. more of a medium body. alc. is hidden well.

Bottle. Murky brown with beautiful lasting off-white head. Aroma is a blast of heavy malt, nuts and some yeast. Sweet toasted malts and dried fruits in the flavor. Rather dominated by mouthdrying alcohol, but this seems actually rather nice. Long finish.
