| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2006 Bottle: Cloudy gold color, lots of yeast sediment with a light white head. The nose is sweet and a bit funky with some rotten plum skins along with a light toasted malty belgian note. The alcohol isn’t too well known for 12%. The flavor is tart and chewy, a bit like a fig neuton, but with a burning feeling in the belly. Not the best BSA, but it falls in line. f351c4v (408), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 18, 2006 Pours a hazy brownish amber, with no head. Sweet aroma laced with spices, maybe a hint of chocolate. Taste is sweet, but not cloying, it’s balanced enough to be quite drinkable. Alcohol is hidden for it’s strength. Mouthfeel is not heavy, and a touch sticky. An excellent brew. bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Very lively pour; spicy and perfumey nose with lemon and pear fruitiness; chewy body holding toasty malt and some dark fruit notes such as raisons and dates; decent hop bite finish that’s a tad metallic; not very complex for a Belgian strong; alcoholic sting pretty apparent. OK. Sofajoern (146), Denmark

Strong, full of sweetness....and though...after the starting sweetness the bitterness turns up...and the finish is real smooth and nice. Hides the 12 Abv real good. ante (2969), Stockholm, Sweden
