Commercial Description:
A dark and heavy ale - the strongest that the brewery has ever produced - in which three varieties of malt and two spices are utilised. It is brewed "in honour of" the Burgundian Babble Belt, a well known web-site on the Internet, where beer lovers can exchange all sorts of information.

Toasted grain, yeast and syrup nose. Hazy brown-rust color, foamy lathery head. Huge offee malt with a bit of raisin and earthy, woody undertones. Heavy with a quick dry coffee tinge toward the end. The candy sugar sweetness comes through in the middle as the glass warms. Too sweet really, but quite enjoyable overall.

Cloudy amber brown color with a thin offwhite head. Aroma of fruits, spices and yeast. Good flavor of rich malt, fruits, spices and yeast. The body has a light to medium thickness with an oily texture and medium carbonation.

This poured a murky brown color. The aroma was slightly spicy with some apples and oranges present. The flavor was very citrusy and spicy with a huge dose of orange peels and caramel. The alcohol is present but not overwhelming at all. A good warming belgian.

11.2 oz bottle via trade with alanC - Thanks Alan! - Pours a murky reddish brown in the tulip with a short tan head that looks like sludge but does lace pretty well. Aroma is yeast, raisins, some caramel, and apples. Flavor is yeast, alcohol, raisins, caramel. Amazingly sweet. Palate is medium bodied and not very carbonated. Some of the alcohol warmth can be found after each sip but it is well hid for 12%. Seems a lot more like wine than beer though. A very interesting nightcap though.

11.2 oz bottle, in Chimay goblet. Pours a beautiful ruby red with a fluffy off white head that settles quickly to a creamy film. Aroma is strong and sweet, with a belgian yeast smell along with alcohol. Notes of apple cider, cinnamon spice, and sweet malt. Flavor is extremely malty, almost caramel like. Belgian spices, very port like in the finish with alot of alcohol warmth, they’re not kidding about the 12%. Very minimal if any hop bitterness. This one coates the mouth thoroughly yet isn’t overly cloying. This is a very big beer with a very vinous complexity to it. As it warmed, alcohol and spices become more predominant. Very good and highly recommended.

<o>Bottled: Amber coloured. Uncelar. Light brown coloured. Fruity and rasiny. Has some liqourice and caramel notes. Quite interesting. Is quite sweetish and has a touch of alcohol to it.
