Commercial Description:
A dark and heavy ale - the strongest that the brewery has ever produced - in which three varieties of malt and two spices are utilised. It is brewed "in honour of" the Burgundian Babble Belt, a well known web-site on the Internet, where beer lovers can exchange all sorts of information.

this has got to be a bad bottle. absolutly no head. i mean i poured this like i pour every beer. and got nothing. there are probably like 25 little bubbles along the side of the glass. there is no carbonation aroma seems ok but mabye a little sour. taste is like rotton fruit and quite bitter. the bottle says brewed in 2002.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy amber-brown body with a large rocky head. Aroma of bread, maple syrup, and mild hops. Flavor of yeast, malt, coriander, alcohol, and spices.

A cloudy juice with apple and pear. The smell, a yeasty odour with booze, like something not ready to serve. Taste and mouthfeel - so, so, was better than warmed. Faintest whisp of head and lace. Low carbonation,

Good strong drink. It pours out a hazy, cloudy brown with a suggestion of a head. The aroma is sweet, malty, with raisins and prunes and sweet spices. Very smooth in the mouth, it has a very yeasty fruitiness, a candy sweetness, and a slight alcohol presence. Very dry finish - this is a great warmer.

A very tasty, extremly yeasty and dry beer, with an attractive orange glow, a firm and frothy head, a vibrant, almost bursting aroma and a sticky, nearly cloying maltiness, yet it remains extremely soft and shows the delicacies of Belgian yeast and subtle spicing.

Hazy brown/garnet; minimal head. Unbelievably smooth. Muted dark fruits. Warming. Stays very subtle. The alcohol is well hidden until it heads your noggin.

Amber- brown hazy beer with good tan head. Heavy nose, malts, caramel and cognac some cinnamonstik too. taste is sweet, sugary, touch of dry fruits, raisins and a warm finish. heavy taste and a little out of balans.

I was not going to rate this but after some research I found out that bad batches of this are not exactly unheard of, and have been the experience of some raters. My bottle was completly flat, no carbonation at all, no palate. The aroma was excellent none of the less, spices, caramel, herbs ... complexity. Nevertheless although the bottle was flat the brew was drinkable, but nothing more than that ... I just find it weird and annoying that the quality control of the brewery isnt better than this
