Commercial Description:
A dark and heavy ale - the strongest that the brewery has ever produced - in which three varieties of malt and two spices are utilised. It is brewed "in honour of" the Burgundian Babble Belt, a well known web-site on the Internet, where beer lovers can exchange all sorts of information.

Bottled 2002. Pale brown/red in appearance with a huge frothy tan head (maybe slightly because of an overly angry pour). Most of the aromas are yeast with some malt. Sweet maltiness with a good deal of DMS. Sticky, sweet aftertaste.

02.17.05 2002 bottle, 11.2oz. Thickly clouded coppery brown. Lofty tan head of fine bubbles. Fruity, malty aromas, juicy fruit gum, dried peas (?!). Thick palate, sweet and creamy with a nice hop bite and some peachy syrupiness. More peas. Maybe it’s something I ate, but it’s uncanny. Good, if weird. Didn’t notice the 12%

Bottle: Muddled brown hue with a fading head and little lace. The aroma has major components of orange zest, date, butterscotch, peat and seas salt, white pepper, clove, herbs, earthy esters and moderate phenols. The taste has a malty and candi sugar forefront with a lot of fruity undertones. The finish display a peppery bite, ginger snap, and an oaky nature. The fell is lush yet more than enough bite to keep you interested. This bottle size was just right. A nice complex beer that will warm your soul.

Consumed at t’Brugs Beertje in Brugge. This dark brown strong ale pours with a nice foamy head. The flavor is very rich and burgundy-like, as its name would indicate. A very enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Light amber and hazy. Decent white head is long lived. Sweet, with a touch of dandelion tartness. Different and quite tasty. Alcohol hidden well. Didn’t pick up any spices.

Bottle: Sugary grape aroma. Hazy amber with a white head. Lots of grape with a woody finish. Light alcohol is noticeable in the finish.

Very cloudy orangish brown color, medium tan head, good head retention. Plummy, some raisin, dates, malty, some light alcohol. Kind of light for the size of the beer, but very smooth, very drinkable, and the alcohol is hidden pretty well, just enough present to remind you of its strength. I liked, a bunch.

Pours wth a huge head. Dark brown body with amber colors also. The aroma is very sweet apples and nutmeg. Ginger bread is also present. The taste is a very sweet maple and caramel. This also has a woody hint of dryness. There is a definite spice of nutmeg and some ginger. Finishes fairly spicy. Plenty of carbonation.
