Pours clear amber with copper highlights and thin tan head. The aroma seems on the pungent side bringing up solid dark fruity esters like sweet Concord grape jam, figs, prunes and brown sugar coated raisins to go along with lighter notes of Belgian yeast spiciness and dark Belgian candi sugar. A big draw brings up the expected alcohol heat to the nose. The taste is very much the same beginning with smooth spices and then quickly moving into sweet ripe plums, dark grapes, prunes, over ripe cherries and raisins. It gets mildly dry into the finish with very little sense of the large ABV. Terrific stuff.

Stubby bottle courtesy of BOLZ7555 – thanks Jason! Pours a completely flat murky brown with lots a sediment floating around. Nose is raisins, malt and alcohol. Taste is sugarcane, sweet malts and some funky spice I can’t place. Sweet enough to hide the alcohol but you can definitely feel it going down. Mouth feel is on the watery side due to the zero carbonation. Meh.

Four bubble head perched above a hazy amber brew. Aroma is Belgian yeast and sweet malt. Flat and flavorless...except for the alcohol. Lacks spice, complexity...really any redeeming quality. Man am I having a rough run here...three consecutive beers that border on drain pour!!! Need something good to bail me out!!!

Bottle Pours out a hazy amber with some orange topped with a sand head. Aroma of Belg yeast and a nice clove spice. Tast of plenty malts some sweetness and more of the spice.

Cloudy orangey brown, thick slightly off-white head. Aroma is spicy sweet, at first - nutmeg and cinnamon and rum, an the flavor is woodsy, oaky and just a hint of band-aid or something like that/ As it warms, though, that medicinal note becomes overbearing and makes this almost dificult to finish.

Clear medium amber brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, hay, roasted, caramel, citrus notes, moderate yeasty, light notes of raisin, light alcohol, canned sugar notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Bitterness is citrus shell. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. (130708)

Little Bottle from The Belfast Co-op. Pours cloudy orange with a bright white ring. Nose is sweet but strange. Taste is strange, pretty boozy and overall weird.
