| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Pours a clouded dark amber brown with a small amount of tan head that does not stay around too long. Nose is strong with raisins and a bit of caramel. Also musty tones lingering as well. Flavor is smooth and sweet. Not a huge range of character, but still well made. The alcohol is extremely well hidden for being 12%. Feel is the expected with not a huge amount of carbonation. Definitely drinkable. May not be the greatest quad ever, but it is certainly well made and is good to try. BDR (2162), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 13, 2007 Carmel and funk on the nose of the first bottle, but the bottle I opened the next day at work had more spice, yeast and caramel with no molddy funk. Cloudy brown color with creamy head. Spices and caramel (coriander) and some others on the non-funked bottle. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2007 ’02 Vintage. Pours opaque amber/brown with a small disappearing tan head. Strong and sweet aroma of raisins, brown sugar/molasses, a bit of yeast, and a slight sour undertone. Flavor is semi-sweet with raisins and toffee, but with an undertone of lemon grass, a hint of coffee towards the finish, and an overall grassy/earthy undertone. Palate is medium/full, semi- sweet/tart, slightly acidic, with just a bit of alcohol. Very nice strong ale, but it has a very odd balance to it. Not necessarily out of balance, just odd. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 10, 2007 An odd but well made and interesting beer. First, the very high abv is expertly hidden. It cannot be smelled or tasted, which is a sign of the quality. Unusual aroma, rotting cheese, mold, and yeast. Malt and light fruit are secondary. Thick, brown, cloudy beer. Considerable sediment. Lots of flavors here, raisins and sweet malt, but also wildflowers and prairie grass, yeast, some wild yeast. Not quite sweet and not quite dry. Great palate, and whether one likes the flavor or not, superb craftsmanship. OSLO (826), Perth, Australia

Taste is Belgian yeast, brown sugar, and malt. Very smooth. Good beer. Arayaga2 (973), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is boozy like a cognac, with plums and aged discontent. Taste and body are waayyyy lighter than I expedted from the aroma. The booze dances around the edges of my tongue like a drop of isopropyl. Interesting and drinkable, but I’m not sure I like it. It smells and tastes like a blend of beer and something from a barrel. $5/11.2oz Palidor19 (1780), Brandon, Florida, USA

Flavors of malts are rich with caramel, butterscotch and fine brandy. hops is well in the background.
