750ml corked bottled. Slightly hazy, orange in colour. Aroma is quite alcoholic, with some stewed fruit, and some warming peppry alcohol and orangey/citrus characters. These aromas show true in the flavour. Mouthfeel is quite rich, with lots of warming alcohol. Quite sticky aswell. It could have done with less of the stickyness and alcohol. Some light woody characters come through aswell. Interesting.

Bottle: Aroma was sweet and yeasty with alcohol and a fruit presence of plumbs. On the pour got a fire orange body with white head. As beer sat in glass turn a murky orange color. Sweet and sour with alcohol up front. Near the middle to finish beer mellowed out and the fruity plumb and a caramel flavor made this beer enjoyable.

Bottle poured a nice murky red orange with a nice thick white head that burnt off fast to a light skim. Sweet, rich over ripe fruit and yeast aroma and flavor with a hint of plum. Sweet, heavy finish with a long lasting flavor on the palate.

Poured into a St. Bernardus glass. Pours thick with a murky orange color and a medium head. Smells of low barleywine like sweetness, some citrus, and that Belgian sweetness. Taste is definitly blegiian sweet, bubbly feel. Body is medium-heavy. Aftertaste lingers of zingy citurs.

This light amber ale poured with a thin head, eliciting a fruity aroma. The flavor is slightly sweet, but well-balanced, with a dry finish. Goes well with Belgian trappist cheese.

Bottle #339 and served in my Duval snifter: A beautiful sunset amber hue topped by a initial huge frothy off-white head that faded some what and left very good lace.
The aroma has a strange ashy wood character over some sweet caramel malt and candi sugar components. Additional notes of plum and strawberry, rye bread, a just a hint of some funk esters.

The taste is a mundane combination of liquid sugar, overripened fruits and a quick dash of sharp bitter hops. Some clove and saffron linger about on the finish. This never seems to meld the taste profile as one, not sure what tones are suppose to be the dominate feature because none come forth, DISAPPOINTING to say the least.

The feel is over carbonated for the body attached, at least the alcohol is wel hidden. Sort of woody and dry but a lingering fruit component kept it from becoming a clean and therefore refreshing beer.

Often I think Jeff is just too much a hard-ass when it comes to reviewing beer but he is spot now with this beer, yep my buddy is correct, this is one Unimpressive brew. The brewmasters should be asshamed to call this the anniversary brew.

Deep reddish colour with a small light brown head. Malty, dark fruit sweet aroma with notes of plum and prune. Malty, yeasty flavor with a dark fruit sweetness and a faint spicy finish.
