The aroma is sweet and quite spicy with notes of coriander, nutmeg, and lemon. The flavor clearly shows off the alcohol, but anyhow it is pretty well matched by fruits and spices. The fruits include oranges, and peach slightly overripe, while the spices include coriander and nutmeg. The end is quite dry yet with the sweet alcohol lingering for a long time. A very complex brew. fonefan (11640), VestJylland, Denmark

Poured a medium and cloudy amberish color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of fruitiness, some oak, yeastiness/bready, citrus, and a light funkiness. Tastes of wood, fruity, lighter breadiness, vanilla, and some spiciness. Lighter funkines was in the finish as well. This one grew on me the more and more I drank it! Alcohol content well hidden. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 18, 2005 Dark golden orange hue. White film proposes more lacing than you’d expect from its size. Appealing, but shy hallertau/sterling reminiscent hops with plenty of honeysuckle flavours, perfumey petals and unfortunately a plasticy beginning of oxidation. Palate is strongly yeasty (pie dough), honeyish and feels a bit syrupy all while the hops try to be as convincing as they are acclaimed to be, but fails a bit at that. I remember more of werthers original than any convincing bitterness. Medium bodied, excellent carbonation level, everywhere at the same time, expanding appropriately. Too bad, because I felt I’d have loved those hops, perhaps simply not one meant to age.
