0.33 l bottle. Orange to brown color with creamy head. Sweet aroma with toffee, licorice, candy as well as some meaty and parfumy notes. Sweet, malty and biscuity flavor with licorice, chocolade and anis. Typical brown abbey ale.

Nice hazy deep orange look with nice aromanotes of malt, plums, yeast and some sourness. Flavor is similar added with some alcohol and caramel finishing up in a sourhoppy ending.

Bottle, with a different label than the one pictured, and which earns it a "5" in appearance on the basis of having a label depicting these two guys at the bar who look like Goofy twins wearing monocles. That and the isolated "t" in the name, that’s pretty strong too. A very unusual dubbel, with a reddish tint. Sweet and too-weak malts. Unusual melody of licoriche, sugar, honey, and spices that doesn’t go together well. Faint apples in the finish with a sour twinge. Flat feel. Meh.

Well, this was a highly disappointing dubbel. Pours dark copper / brown with a rocky beige head. The aroma has sweet caramel, crackers, raisins, apparent yeast, tropical fruits and locker room funk. Medium / thin body with abrasive sharp carbonation. The flavor starts bready and metallic with 7-Up effervescence, dry caramel and some woodiness. The finish has what seems like a hop kick and it is also quite astringent. A mediocre dubbel at best.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown color with an off-white head. Sweet spicy malty aroma with some hints of dark fruits. Sweet malty bitter licorice flavor with some hints of dark fruit. Dry malty dark fruit finish.

Tap @ Publick House, Brookline, MA. Pours a dark orange-amber with a nice, fluffy off-white head. The aroma is largely figs, with a bit of a sour characteristic as well. Flavor is sweet, with plums, figs, and dates up front and a sugary, malty, fruity, licorice finish. The most unique dubbel I have ever tried and a total winner.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/amber with a fluffy, but diminishing off-white head. Sweet n’ sour aroma, like it’s been aging for …ages. Fruity notes. Plums. Flavour is Sweetish. Malty and fruity. Lots of licorice in the finish. Notes of apple. 06-07-07.
