Hazy deep amber with huge off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with yeasty and caramel notes. Flavor is sweet with spices, caramel and yeasty notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Ends sweet.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Fruity, light yeasty and caramel aroma. Flavour is spiced and fruity, light wineous towards aged and woody feel. Spiced flavour into the finish, swept in a dense malty flavour. Slight alcohol burning finish.

Bottle - 330ml. Cloudy chestnut brown body with fizzy carbonadion and a decent off-white foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar, caramel and fruity hints. Its sharp hoppy taste hides the alcohol pretty well and cerries some oaky notes. Ends with a good bittersweet finish.

330ml bottle. Gently sweet, vinous aroma, lightly fruity with hints of raisin, walnut, dark brown sugar, cherry and very faint alcohol. Clear medium-dark amber color, all sediment left behind, almost tea-like appearance, with a fading, slight head. Flavor contains the expected dark, brown sugary malt sweetness but has an equally notable spicy, bitter, peppery component throughout, blended with an earthy, herbal tinge, faint banana and medicinal alcohol at the finish. A little thin on the palate for a beer of its purported girth, the body seeming full enough. Does have some interesting aspects, but not put together extremely well.

Bottle. Sweet malt, some chocolate and lactic tones. Mouth is bitter maltiness, harsh and very carbonated. Not great.

Bottle: Poured a murky orange brown with a off white head. Sweet fruit, nuts and malts, with just a hint of caramel comes in a mixed aroma. Flavor is smokey with sweet burnt caramel malt. The finish has that dry hoppy/fruit to it.

Bottle, bought @ Kolding Vinhandel.
Pours a muddy pale brown, not terribly appetizing. Small, creamy cappucino head sits silently on top. Not much lacing. Aroma is sweet, lots of yeast mixed with slightly burnt caramel. Some dried fruits as well. Mouthfeel is nice, kind of creamy, but with lots of small bubbles making it much fresher than many other dubbels. Flavour has burnt caramel, a vinious edge, and lots and lots of raisins. The finish is more vinious with a dose of herbal hops. Rather nice, but not exceptional.

A dirty hazy brown ale with a thin light moka head. Deep dark sludge at bottom of bottle. A sweet candy sugar aroma, coriander and dried fruits. In mouth, coriander kicks in quick followed by crisp malt, burned caramel and some nice herbal hops and warming alcohol. A very nice example of a dubbel, powerful, yet restrained. Bieropholie import, BB 2011.
