duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Oct 27, 2004 Bottle. Quite spicy, yeasty. Brown sugar notes aswell as some dark fruit and caramel. Has a cola like fizzyness, which i didn’t particularly like, but it wasn’t bad.
Madsnp (112), Odense C, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 Bottle. Hazy amber coloured with a foamy off white head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, sweet malt, hops and yeast. Flavour of hops, raisins, caramel and malt. EithCubes (1802), Indiana, USA Jul 30, 2008 Bottle. Spicy, slightly hot nose, big yeast with a dollop of honey and really thick, rich malt. Hazy dark amber pour with a luscious, lacing creamy head. Taste is (surprisingly, really) extremely dry and actually pretty bitter, honey on the side with rooty spice and some real earthy malt up front. Hint of ginger and orange peel, touch of toffee. Prickling throughout. Smisje house yeast, no sign of candi. Medium body, very dry, herbal aftertaste. A bit hard to finish, but gosh, they can turn out some good ones if you keep them away from the mustard seeds. Probably won’t have again, though. BoBoChamp (635), Gent, Belgium Jul 28, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, balanced, cloudy, good head, nice brew Ober (289), Best, Netherlands Jul 28, 2008 An amber/red colored beer, with a medium beige head. It disappears quickly. The aroma is a little sour, with brown sugar, caramel and honey. The taste is a little sweet of brown sugar, a little sour, dry and a bit of alcohol. For a beer of 9% it hasn’t a full taste. Aftertaste is dry. Defreni (480), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 26, 2008 Flaske.
