On tap at Map Room, Chicago. I didn’t know anything about this beer when sampled. I told my brother-- it tastes like someone mixed a Belgian strong ale with grapefruit juice. Strong tart citrus flavor. Not exaclty my cup of tea-- but might be refreshing on a warm summer day.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Dark brown and copper colour. Sour nose. The taste reminds me of a sour flemish ale. Taste of fruits. Acidic and very sour. Mouthfeel fine. Taste not my thing.

Quite an unattractive beer! Very murky, hazy muddy-looking dark copper colored. No head at all. The aroma to me smells like peanuts, but it also has a little fruitiness deep in there. The flavor is odd. Somewhat fruity - strawberries and raisins, but quite tart and acidic overall. Medium carbonation.

Cloudy brown beer, with a minimal, fizzy head - tangy, acidic aroma, with strong date and raisin, brown sugar, some metallic smell in the background - tart, acidic, and almost briny initially (something in the first sip tasted like olives to me) - prickly carbonation - over ripe apples and fairly strong raisin - some caramel and molasses sweetness arrive late, but seem out of place with the high acidity - a bit metallic in the finish - an odd and out of balance beer.

33 cl bottle. Deep amber-brown beer with a thick beige head. The aroma is lightly spicy, some clove, plum and a hint of floral character as well. The flavour is quite light and fruity for a beer as dark as this one. Fairly tart initially, with tart apple and light plum and raisin. There is a hint of brown sugar in the back as well. Sweet malts, but lacking in some richnes. I like the acidity and the overall character of this beer, but there’s something missing that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Bottle... Ultra murky, caramel-colored ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma provides lots of toffee, peach and apple with lesser notes of raisins, pear and ancient cheese funk. The flavor is a medley of medium caramel sweetness, medium tart acidity and moderate bitterness. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Finishes mildly abrasive, lightly sweet and tangy.

Pours a relatively clear light amber color, with a tiny, light brown head. Smells a little sweet and tart, definitely get some of the raisins and funky sour fruits its brewed with. The flavor was slightly acidic, but not overpoweringly so. Definitely had some tannins along wit hthe raisins and dark fruits in the taste. I didnt get alot of the supposed honey its brewed with, that was masked pretty well. Decent little brew, nothing awesome.

Pours a dark cloudy reddish color with a thin tan head. Has hints of caramel, dark fruits, spice, candied sugar. Finishes with a perfect balance of carbonation and alcohol. Leaves a sweet sugar taste on the tongue.
