On tap from Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore during Belgian fest. You can’t ever trust a beer that comes with no head. Zero head on this beer, hazy reddish purple colored body that looks like pressed apple cider. Smells sweet with honey, yeast, raisins, and fruity esters. Flavor of orange, yeast, white grapes, and bananas. Clean and slightly watery slightly funk finish.

Bottled. Murky and deep brown with a medium sized tan head. Malty and sweet with heavy notes of raisins. Other notes of honey, caramel, spices and yeast.

Pours a fully fogged in reddish brown. No head less than a minute after the pour, which I found odd and a let down. As I poured I could hear vibrant carbonation sizzling as it rushed up to form a head. If only there were some head, I’d give it a 4.5. Nose is a great woody tone with what seems like a touch of cherries. Deep, mature, robust, and worth a worth taking some time to dive into. Flavor is extremely good. Vibrant cherries that stay constant and distinct while delivering a firm and steady flavor profile. Feel is smooth on the liquid. The carbonation here is massive and just assaults the senses. Try not to burp after going on this one. Bottom line is this is an extremely good brew. Combine it’s rarity with it’s flavor and this is a must try. If you see it, just grab it and don’t think about it (who cares how much it costs)...for your own good. Beautiful. The only downfall is the odd lack of head (which is clearly visible in the picture above). But hey...it tastes good, so who cares.

Thanks Dave. The beer pours to a really murky chestnut colored body with a foamy light tan head. The aroma is golden raisins and orange juice. Reminds me of a Bare Tree Weiss Wine. The flavor is sweet with golden raisins, floral honey, and orange juice. The palate is sweet, medium bodied, lightly sticky. Very enjoyable.

Interesting aroma - sweet raisins, peach, Sunny D, and a balancing nutmegy element. Even better flavor! Clean caramel, raisin, honey residuals, and sweet kiwi. A fruity delight, try it despite the low score.

light off amber color w/ red hughes and a big full white head w/ some nice lacing. Odd aroma not all that big some sweet notes but mostly a light spiciness some light peppers and a hint of clove w/ a touch of raisin. Well coated palate although a bit thin, but really coats the tongue. Flavor is a bit of a hit right away has a light tart fruitiness that somehow I am guessing is coming from raisens, then sweet honeys behind that which makes the tart a bit out of place the touch of spice is still present but to covered for me to pick out. Odd but not to bad.

Guido. Reggenboog. 12 oz. Or maybe 11.2 or something. Picture of this alleged Guido on the label. Looks like Baudelaire meets Martin Van Bueren. Hope that helps, kids. 8% alc, brewed with honey and raisins. Ow-right!!! Dark, plummy, utterly hazed appearance, rugged and ruddy, looks like a dubbel should, don’t know if it is one, though...good, lasting head atop, 1/4" off-white and creamy... Aroma holds a hundred delights: rich, fruity, spicy, ...the raisins really peel out of here with aplomb, just spilling out the fruity goodness. Like a dubbel with an extra kick in the pants! Taste: wow! Even better! A rich, bouncy, juicy, burgundian brew (to quote the Ommegang guys)...A trifle sour, a little tangy, but so rich, and thick and delicious...mmm. Mmmmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mm. How’s that grab ya? I love you, Guido. You’re my new best friend. Wow, can I say, just, Wow...this is what beer drinking was made for...not, "good", or "good enough", or "okay", or ..."I guess it’ll do..."...no, this is an ale that stands up and demands to be recognized. It actually doesn’t have to demand, it just is...taste it, and there’s no question. Smack! Wha’happen? Guido, bitch! Yo! Sweetness, and bitterness, and so much lovely flavor, so much unheard of deliciousness...great stuff!

Bottle. Aroma of dark fruits and a bit of sour. Body is a bit thin, and the carbonation is extremely mild. Reddish amber color with a very reluctant white head. Flavor is lightly sour, with dark fruits and apple. Something like honey adds a contrapunctual sweetness. There is an acetic aspect. Finish is quite dry. A whit funk.
