thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark May 11, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Tønden, Haslev.
Pours muddy, unpleasant brown with a fizzy head that disappears as it’s poured. Aroma is light murky, lots of dried fruits, especially raisins. Some caramel and honey as well. High carbonation, but still a bit thin. Flavour has lots of fruity sweetness, lots of character from the raisins. Light tartness as well. A bit too high carbonation, but still rather nice.
sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 12, 2008 The Dan Journal #192. Tasted 7/3/08. 330ml bottle. Sedimented with a brown amber hue. Spotty ring of head. Earthy figgy nose. Floral and estery. Musty truffles. Raisins and brown sugar. Good nose! Medium bodied with cocoa and cherry flavors. Fruity and bitter. Bready with a mild sour note. Good citrus flavor. Another decent brew. airforce1 (61), Atascosa, Texas, USA Jun 22, 2008 Dark, murky in colour, with notes of dank raisins, plums, honey, and tree bark. Slightly bitter yet suprisingly tart in the finish. A descent session beer for sure! Magic_dave6 (3476), Glasgow, Scotland Jun 11, 2008 Bottle thanks to ronnie. Tart berry fruit, cany sugar, floural, alc very well hiden, an interesting little beast. Id have never guessed it a honey and raisin beer, but there you go. MaltDawg (221), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 2, 2008 Another belgian ale with a terribly complex and unique aroma and flavor.
Poured mostly clear amber/copper color with a rocky somewhat persistent head.
Aroma includes nuttiness, raisins and other sweet malty notes with a bit of alchohol. Flavor has a sour acidic twang with roasty, nutty, and sweet raisins. Fairly light fizzy mouthfeel with coffee and other roasty flavors coming through in the finish and some residual sourness. maniac (1910), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 31, 2008 Shared by MaltDawg. Slightly hazy dark amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Huge molassas, caramel, raisins, rum-soaked fruit and light woody aroma. Dry malty flavor, soem raisins, caramel, earthiness, slight sour hints and a bit more light woodiness. Medium full body with moderate carbonation with a alcohol warming finish.
