jerohen (1465), Bussum, Netherlands Aug 20, 2008 Bottled at home. Orange coloured, dying head. Spicy nose, honey. Not as overly sweet as a had expected, pretty dry. Thin mouthfeel. Definitely not all brews from this brewery are good. BoBoChamp (635), Gent, Belgium Jul 28, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, easy to drink honey ale, not complex, not balanced, cloudy, small head, nothing special, needs to be revised beastiefan2k (1101), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA May 30, 2008 Pours with a small head and leaves a sticky lacing. The color is a very muted, dark, thick, murky dirty golden. Aroma is strong with light tartness and semi-sweet berry esters. Then there is a meatiness and light bark. Don’t know where Johan gets these weird aromas (in this case a weird combination of strong yeast and honey). Taste becomes a bit lacking, losses all those esters and berry/fruit. Left is a bland meaty-tea flavors. Its a bit briny as well. Despite my weird descriptors there was nothing offensive about it. Easy drinking, a nice brew. 33cL bottle from Bier Temple, dated 2nd quarter of 2008 (??), hotel room plastic cup on 5/17/08. fonefan (4333), Ulfborg, Denmark Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate yeasty, light honey. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (050308) Storm (2677), Amager, Denmark Mar 22, 2008 Bottle. Unclear, golden colour with a little white head. Aroma of malt and hints of honey. Flavour of malt, caramel, yeast, and something undiscribeable?!
