Brown, muddy body. Off-white, frothy head. Aroma of liquor, malts (strong: molasses, coffee) and some alcohol. Complex aroma! Moderately sweet, moderately bitter flavour. Ok complexity but somewhat out of balance (somewhat too sweet for me). Nice beer though.

(Bottle) Pours a dark amber body with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of fruit (plums and various berries), florals, mustiness, and brown sugar. Flavor of malt, toffee, coriander, and tropical fruits (pineapple, melon, banana) upfront and then warms to flavors of darker fruit (raisins, dates, plums) and white grapes.

Bottle from Uto - Cloudy orange with an off white head. Aroma of buttered toffee and peanut butter with citrus hints. Salty and spicy with highlights of banana, orange and toffee. Medium bodied with a long toffee nut finish.

Dark red with a small head which quickly fades to a slight haze. Very sweet in aroma and taste, but full and round with lots of alcohol. Not very balanced, though. Thick and cloying mouthfeel. A real heavy christmas ale, pretty enjoyable.

Draft at Capital Ale House. Medium to dark amber, OK head. Big aroma of dark fruits, plums and mixed berries, with a bit of rosewater perfume as well. The flavor was similar, initial sweet fruit flavors that matched the nose, finishing with a perfume laced hit of alcohol. Really liked this.

From a stubby 11.2 oz bottle with a short description on the front label, no freshness date. Poured a golden hued amber with a frothy, rocky head, good retention, settled into a sudsy, small amount of laced sticking. Aromas of fruity yeast and candied sugar, a raisin fruitiness, coriander and soft spices, a toffee maltiness that mingles with a medicinal alcohol. Good carbonation and a crisp, carbonated smooth light bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of raisins and berries, traces of candied sugar, a subtle tart orange, a soft grains of paradise spiciness, a little licorice and herbal flavor, sweet bready malts, a light alcohol flavor towards the end and a dryish yeasty, malty finish. Not a bad strong ale, a nice change of pace, even at 11% ABV, an easy quaffability, worth trying.

Bottle (from Bitter Virtue). Slightly hazy. Sweet malts fruity caramelised sugar. Some alcohol showing. Odd earthy yeast flavours in mouth. On the whole too sweet for me.
