Bottle shared with select members of the Carolina Crew. Dark amber pour with bubbly white head. Nose similar to a barleywine, more so than most Belgians... fruity and sweet. A bit more sharp and pungent, slightly earthy on the tongue. Stewed fruit and light spice. Light on the palate and easy to drink considering the ABV.

Bottle. Pours a mahogany hazy body with a 1 finger off white head. Citrus and spices dominate the nose. Alcohol latent dark fruits, cinnamon and clove. Apple skins and a bit vinous. Very good.

Looks fine, amber, unclear. Yeasty aroma, pepper. Flavor is acidic, heavy and a bit unpleasent. Pepper once more. Watery, acidic texture.

A clear red/amber colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of sweet malts, hops fruits and spices. The taste of sweet fruit like apricots with hints of cherries. There is hop bitterness and spices. The flavor of alcohol. The aftertaste has a long litlle bitter and it is dry.

Flaske. Tydelig en t smisje øl. Deres gærstamme og umiskendelige metaliske smag er meget fremtrædende. Koriander kan jeg ikke ane noget af. En del alkohol i slutsmagen, hvilket overraksende nok trækker op.

33cl bottle from Beverage Castle (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark brown color with a thick and foamy white-tan head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is strongly of sweet malt, caramel, ripe plums, brown sugar, dark ripe fruit, hints of molasses, sweet chocolate. Flavor is not quite as strong as the nose, but the dark ripe fruit, sweet caramel, rum-soaked raisins and slight notes of hops come through instead. The phenol is fairly evident as well but does not completely overpower the taste of the beer. Generally full-bodied with a sweet and slightly bitter alcohol finish (with a bit of alcohol burn).

Really good, and extremely well balanced christmas ale. Did not get any sence that this was 11% alcohol by the flavor or palate. Pretty sweet, malt, dark fruits and nice spices. But all flavors in a balanced, mild splash.
