Bottle @ <a href=http://ratebeer.com/events-detail.asp?eventID target=_new> Zythos Bier Festival 2008, Sint Niklaas, Belgium. Unclear light yellow green color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate sour - tart, light to moderate yeasty, soap, cucumber. Flavor is moderate sweet and sour - tartness with a average duration, but refreshing and strange. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (010308)

ZBF08. Good grapefruit aroma. Quite sour, but still nice. Sour like fresh lemon juice.

Actually 3trd, commercial version of an experimental beer Head gone in secs to rim over very pale clear beer. Lemony, citrussy, very refreshing nose, outstandingly inviting, fruity and lactic. Again citrussy, slightly lactic, with a delicate grain background flavour. Slightly sweeter than the first experimental versions. Appropriately light. The next best thing to (real) Berliner Weisse.

Pours a wierd light lemonade almost white color with a fizzy diminishing head to nothing. Aroma is a fair amoutn of sulfur/thiol, and tons of DMS, hints of diacetyl, grapefruit, lemon juice, coconut and vanilla- lactic tartness as well. Flavor, is more sufur and dms- vegetal cooked cabbage/sauerkraut, more light earthy and lemony hints, and a slightly tart finish. Seemed like a very raw unrefined and fresh berliner weisse that needs time to mellow out a bit. Not bad on a 100 degree day like last saturday.

Bottle (ZBF2008) (sip) Pale like grapefruit juice. Slightly pissy aroma. Gherkin brine taste. Sorry - if I see it, I say it.

Bottle. Cloudy white with a small head. Aroma is salty, pretzel like. Light, easy drinking with some sulpher and sweet candy. The beer balances between tart and grain. An absolutly wonderful beer.

ZBF 08. Hazy yellow pour with a very thin white head. Aroma of tart lemon. Flavor of tart lemon, it’s acidic and citric. The body is light and the carbonation is lively. It seems I don’t like Mesopotamic beers much.
