Commercial Description:
Exceptional weather condition made an early, rich sloeberry harvest. The recipe was also changed, and the sloeberries got macerated for a full 10 months.

33cL bottle, thanks Johan! Golden, copper color with a small head. What an aroma! It’s pretty funky with some sour characteristics (similar to an Oud Bruin). It is very fruity with strawberries and cherries. The flavor is very dry! Surprising! Pretty tart as well, not much residual sweetness at all. Don’t get me wrong, it is delicious. Nicely carbonated. Great beer.

Bottle, 33 cl. Hazy copper color, with medium white head. Aroma = very special, bit fruity, sourness, malts. Medium body. Taste refreshing, fruity, dry, sour, yeast. For me it’s better as the normal "Sleedoorn beer".

Good, effervescent head, reducing itself to 2cm and then remaining stable, slightly pinkish coloured; over hazy-ish amber beer. Medicinal - fruity nose, characteristic for the Regenboog. Fruitiness has - even in the nose - a tart component: no doubt the sloeberries manifesting themselves. Further a strange, but not unpleasant "old" aroma - like parchment or old books. The medicinal taste, again, but shortlived and restrained. Then it is extremely dry, its fruity dimension notwithstanding. Being sloeberries, it could have been rosehips or similar: a mixture of dry, wild fruit and dry oriental (not hot) spices. Taste grows on me. Dry, dry, near tart palate. Refreshing all the same - remarkable! I cannot say whether I like this better or less than the ordinary Sleedoorn. It is... remarkable. Beer is ready at the brewery, but as yet sampled unlabeled; name might still change.

(Bottled in 2006) Hazy amber with a smallish head. Slightly tart, strangely berryish aroma with some vinous character. Quite stingy, tart and fruity, pretty dry flavor. At first it tastes pretty bad, but after a few sips you get used to it, and later on even start liking it. Yeast doesn’t affect the flavor much, but does cut the sharpest edges off. Medium-bodied, dry and tart palate with slightly foamy carbonation. This is quite a challenging brew, but still I’m happy it hasn’t been spoiled with excess sugar. Definitely recommended for all lambic lovers out there. I just wish I had tasted the actual berry before, so I could put things better into perspective.

Golden color; fizzy head that reduces too quickly. It has a lightly sour and woody aroma. It has a common flavor, but also a bit spicy, woody and sour; there are sweet nuts too. Refreshing.
