Comments: That’s a good one! Warming, yeasty, spicy Belgian with a cakey combination of yeast and malt. Surprisingly firm hop bite. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2007 Poured a murky amber with a large fizzy/frothy white head. Aroma of sweet toffee, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg, and a bit of citrus. Taste is a little lighter than expected, with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg and fresh honey wheat bread. As diligently as I search, I can find no pumpkin notes, however. It doesn’t detract from the beer, which is overall quite pleasant. The body is lighter and fizzier than expected, which also gives it a much more casual feel. Combined with the fact that I can’t taste the alcohol, it makes this beer almost dangerously drinkable. A nice Belgian Halloween beer that works quite well, adding a touch of refined Belgian craftsmanship to what otherwise seems to be a largely American endeavor. Having had some in-your-face pumpkin ale, this one was quite mild on the pumpkin flavors. Kinda had to look for the pumpkin really, but it’s just a great, tasty, characterful beer anyway with nice spiciness. faroeviking (6092), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Yeasty toasty maltiness with spiced and ripe fruits in the aroma. Very good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and toasty, spiced, yeasty with a dry hoppiness and slight pumpkin. Nice spiced yeasty finish. Very nice indeed. thewolf (5782), Kolding, Denmark

Pours a clear orange, lightly hazy. Okay creamy off-white head. Aroma has yeast, oranges, spices, youghurt and creamyness. Wonderful mouthfeel. Round flavours. Light sourness from oranges. But also lots of caramel sweetness, some spicyness, dry, yeasty and light fruity bitterness. Some pumpkin in there as well. Like a potent mixture of a dubbel, a tripel and a saison.
