| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 9, 2009 The epitome of sediment - this is a suspension if i’ve ever seen one. Thinnish tan head that fades fast on top of a deep copper and amber body with many huge chunks of sediment, yeast and what looks like yellowish chunks of grapenuts cereal. Aroma of honey, flowers, metal, fresh grass, a bit of hops and some light spices. Medium-bodied; Strong acidic malt and light caramel flavours up front, then showing the yeast and sediment flavours afterwards. Aftertaste has a good sweetness from pomme fruits and a bit of a spicey taste as well. Overall, not as bad as the ratings show, but definitely not an amazing beer. An acceptable beer, one worth trying but not buying a lot of. I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased on 27-December-2007 at BioMarkt in Amsterdam, Nederlands, sampled at home in Washington on 09-March-2009, with a best-by (ten minste houdbaar tot) date of 24-April-2008, my sampling was almost a year after that :-) mike1977ok (648), Netherlands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Bottle, 25cl. It pours a hazy golden body with so much big, chunky floaties even Abbaye des Rocs would be proud. The head was in another league though, just a small, off-white one, with short retention. Nice aroma with caramel, dried fruits, sugar and fresh fruits like apricot and peach. Some tea as well. The floaties are really fascinating, if the glass is shaken carefully, it looks more like jelly than beer, as they seem to stay at the same spot. The flavor has many similarities with the aroma, with tea, apricot and peach, some dried fruits, sugar and some caramel. Really pleasant bitterness as well, lasting all the way into the finish. A bit thin body, effervescent and sweetish. A beer that is sure much nicer than what it’s score suggests, but even though it’s a good one, I doubt I will say "The same again" to a barman if he has other beers in his list.
