Commercial Description:
Dunkel is of course a dark German-style wheat beer. The same yeast strain that is used to ferment our Weiss and Kristall Weiss, is employed here in order to produce the characteristic fruity and spicy flavors only with a more pronounced malt character.

Nice dark brown body to this, with a small white island on top. The aroma is a yeasty grape smell, with a heavy malt character. The flavor is a decent malty sweetness. Rather fruity blend to it, but not overdone. I wouldn’t shy away from this in the future, but nothing to intensely interesting.

Lightly cloudy brown with a tan foamy head. Sweeter caramel flavors mixed with a light banana and lightly citric bite. Refreshing and lighter in malt than many dunkles of this ilk.

A very sweet banana aroma. Light brown color. Overall, just not nearly enough malt. It's sweet like a WeiB, but just unbelievably average

Banana bread nose, with a thick head. Hazy brown robe. Nice caramel malts flavour but the spice and bananas are rather light, and come out near the end. Not as intense as their german counterpart.

A nice copper-brownish color but nothing spectacular. The taste was a bit sweet, but the aroma made me think it would be slightly more tart. I think this would be very enjoyable on a cold winter's evening.

(12 oz bottle) Pours a thick, creamy, almond head and a cloudy deep reddish-brown body. Aroma of sweet malt, bananas, wheat and lemon. Interesting creamy coffee flavour. Slight dry-citrus finish. Delicious! Many thanks to Argo for this delight...
