(Rating #2684)

On tap at the restaurant-brewpub, dark brown color, with a thick beige head, with some toasted, caramelized, chocolate malt, fruity nose, of dried raisin, date esters, with a hint of nuttiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a caramelized, toasted, chocolate malt ,character with some cookie dough, faint dark chocolatey flavors, with some toffee, dark dried raisin, date, fig notes, leading towards a malty, roasty, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Draft sample at Bière et Saveur 09.09.04 : Brown in color sparing white head with soft carbonation. Light caramel and nutty note can be found in this beer with a thin body. Almost not hop presence. Made to be easy drink and this one surely is.

A clear brown ale with a thicl creamy moka head. Aroma of roasted malts, nutty, light sweet chocolate. In mouth, a rather interesitn brown ale, with nice light hops, very nutty. Very nice. On tap at brewpub July 25 2009.

My Bottom Line:
This creamy and chocolatey Brown Ale expands its flavor profile into earthy and nutty angles, providing a sweet but friendly pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam coats the dark brown.
-This is as drinkable as their other two beers.
-Note that the brewer here is not aiming for any specific style; in this case, the beer is not supposed to be an exact replica of an English Brown Ale.
-Fruity esters suffuse the flavor profile.
-Cascade hops are supposedly used in this one, but I must say they are pretty shy throughout, mostly peeking through the finish.

On tap at the brewpub.
