On tap at the brewery. Poured black with a bubbly light brown head. Aroma was full of coffee notes and a bit of chocolate. Taste much more like a stout than a dry stout with coffee notes. A really acidic after taste really put me off.

On tap...First thing that I notice is the complete lack of carbonation. Very watery and boring taste for a stout. Not enough roast or dark malt flavor here. Simply put, this is the lamest stout I’ve ever had.

On tap at the brewpub. I found this beer to be quite drinkable. I also find water to be quite drinkable. Very thin and watered down.

On tap at the brewpub. The pick of the three beers on offer. But since the other two were a pale lager and an American wheat, that’s not really saying a lot. Dark brown colour - pale for a stout. Also thin and weakly malty. Unremarkable stuff.

On tap at the brewpub, sampled early August. Translucent dark brown body, thin fizzy off-white head. Light roasty aroma with some woody acidity. Watery roasted malt body, somewhat bitter, lacking complexity and depth. Thin-bodied and weak, but inoffensive. It is argued among some that a black bear did, in fact, brew this beer. The bear was subsequently shot and killed, and the beer was confiscated by park staff to serve to the most irritating, obnoxious guests.

On tap at the brewpub. Below the name of this beer on the plaque with its’ name, it says (Guinness Style). Yeah. Here I was, pleased by the fine example of a Blonde Ale I’d just enjoyed. And then this beer. Thin pale brown, with orange fringes. This is a stout? It looks like a weak ass brown ale. A greasy schmalz of gray head. Aroma of lightly honey dusted warm old Hersheys bars. Coarse. Absolutely no carbonation. At all. Boo. Light roasted caramel, with edges of burnt toast, crappy stale American chocolate and maybe a few grains of Sanka that came from a jar under the sink fo my old house, where it was kept with the cleaning supplies since my parents bought the house in 1986. Then, this incredibly artifical sugary glow, like fake raspberrys, only metallic and in a chocolate or nutty tone. Parts with a passing thought of hops. This beer really couldn’t get much worse for the style.
