dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 19, 2009 Tap at brewpub. Nice brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted grain. Taste is smooth chocolate malt and some roasted grain. Good brown ale. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2009 Had on tap at the brewpub. Aroma and flavor smell of coffee and dark malts, a bit much with chocolate as well for the style. Not bad, though. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2009 Pours medium brown with a nice full head. Nice hints of nuts and malt that show off a deeper roast in the mid palate. It finished nice and well rounded. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Mar 28, 2009 Deep brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of nuts (of course), caramel, toffee and malt. Medium-bodied; Strong nuts in the flavours, apricots, spice and a bit of malt dash the beer. Aftertaste shows some sweetness, but mainly the bitterness of the nuts. Overall, not a good beer - the worst of the lot for me. I sampled this beer on draught at Tampa Bay Brewing Company’s Brewpub in Tampa (Ybor City), Florida on 10 November 2007. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 Cask @ TBBC.
Pours deep amber, with thick beige head.
Aroma is hoppy and grainy.
Taste is grainy with some spices and malts, light hoppy aftertaste with some sweet honey?
Some nice toffee/coffee roastiness.
The cask gives the beer some extra resinous and light fruity (apple) note. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 24, 2008 on tap-pours an off white head and amber color. Aroma is medium malt, earthy. Taste is medium malt, earthy hops. Mild carbonation. 3.0
Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 1, 2007 On tap @ brewery. Pours a clear deep copper with somewhat creamy tan head. The aroma is sweet with caramelized malts, malt astringency and pale malts. The taste hits first with a streak of malt astringency that ties into roasted malts, a hint of caramelized malts, faint chocolate malts and mild charred – burnt – cindered malt dust. That last part could be the chocolate malts I taste. This seems to be a nice brown. The malt astringency has its place but here it could be slightly reduced. But that may be getting too picky. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Oct 21, 2007 On tap at the Brewpub.Poured a thin brown color with a thin head.Caramel and nuts aroma.Flavor was roasted nuts, hops and malts with some caramel.Had some hop bitterness thrown in there. The finish was bitter.
