Tap. Pours a clear amber with a one finger lasting off-white head that lasts leaving some lacing. Aroma of lightly roasted malt and light caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Simple but very drinkable.

Rich amber body with a puffy beige head. Aroma is sweet and slightly nutty. Malts are the order of the day here, with a strong but not cloying sweetness with notes of chocolate and caramel. Hops take a back seat but round it out nicely. I’m not usually a fan of browns but this is pretty good.

Draught. Dark brown body with red highlights, small fading head, minimal lacing. Aromas of caramel malts, nuts, some chocolate but not much. Flavor is caramel, toffee, nuts and a nice malt background. Light bodied, creamy palate. Finish is watery and short.

This is one of my favorite brews from TBBC. This is brewed seasonally and it’s a little difficult to time it, but if you stop in and they have it on tap, get it. It has a more subtle and smoky flavor to it than most brown ales. A little hoppy to, though not too much. I’d notice, as I’m not much of a fan of IPA’s or other really hoppy beers. Enjoy.

Draft at brewpub. Pours brown color with a medium white head that is lasting and produces great lacing. Medium nutty malty aroma. Medium body. Good roasted malt flavor with a solid bitter finish.

I have had this beer many a time but had not realized that I hadn’t yet rated it. Luckily, I took notice and had a couple pints the other night.
Pours a dark brown body and a tall khaki head. Tampa Bay’s beers are always outright appealing to the eye. There is a nice aroma and flavor of chocolate and walnuts, lots of toffee and a hint of smoke and burnt toast in the finish. Brown’s palate is robust and creamy with a big dry woodsy hopped finish. Another nice offering from the Dave’s over at Tampa Bay!

Re-rate 9-9-2007
Big toasted malt aroma with minor hints of biscuit and nuts. The body is an amber brown and holds a lasting tan head. More brown ale in this beer, this time. Caramel and chestnut with a very biscuity/bready finish and less over the top hopping. Worth trying now.
Original rating was a 2.5
Hoppy aroma with little else. Light brown with a finger thick creamy head. Big hop presence in the fore then a wallop of malt then more hops. Not much brown ale in this. Kinda tastes exactly like the amber ale they do.
