| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 18, 2003 TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 79. This draft brew was sampled at the brewery in Tampa Florida and was served to us by Jim McCann the brewer and Vicky Owen the owner. This brew poured a medium sized head of off-white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a great lace and a uncarbonated transparent brown colored body. It had a very mild malt aroma and a smooth slightly tingly start with a mild brown malt hop finish. The flavor was mild with weak brown malt flavor and was thin. It needed more of what it had to make it good. Braudog (3762), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2002 Dark amber, but little aroma. A tad weak-kneed. Vague nuttiness in the flavor. Also had from the cask, which added a velvety head, much better. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 22, 2003 Draft at Tampa Bay Brewing. A medium sized tan head that contained fine sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. The body was uncarbonated and transparent with an amber hue. The nose was malty and caramel with a brown flavor to it. The palate was creamy and smooth and this was a medium bodied beer with excellent lacing. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2007 On tap @ brewery. Pours a clear deep copper with somewhat creamy tan head. The aroma is sweet with caramelized malts, malt astringency and pale malts. The taste hits first with a streak of malt astringency that ties into roasted malts, a hint of caramelized malts, faint chocolate malts and mild charred – burnt – cindered malt dust. That last part could be the chocolate malts I taste. This seems to be a nice brown. The malt astringency has its place but here it could be slightly reduced. But that may be getting too picky. jgb9348 (2499), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Deep brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of nuts (of course), caramel, toffee and malt. Medium-bodied; Strong nuts in the flavours, apricots, spice and a bit of malt dash the beer. Aftertaste shows some sweetness, but mainly the bitterness of the nuts. Overall, not a good beer - the worst of the lot for me. I sampled this beer on draught at Tampa Bay Brewing Company’s Brewpub in Tampa (Ybor City), Florida on 10 November 2007.
