Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Sep 25, 2008 On tap @ the brewpub. 5% ABV stated elixir pours up in a mug with clear gold body and bright white head. The light aroma carries sweet Pilsner like malts, grain malts and mild levels of tart citrus hops. The taste has an initial crisp fresh quality bringing up solid notes of citrus lemon and grapefruit mixing with a pleasing grainy malt quality. Most likely Munic type grains. I get a near sweet tangelo note as a trickle of malt sweetness intercedes. The grain and tart citrus flavors carry into the finish polarizing the experience. In the after taste I get a persistent mild lingering hop bitterness. PorterPounder (3131), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 18, 2008 On tap at the brewpub in Ybor City. Light golden pour, slight white head. Neutral aroma with hints of grain. Crisp flavor with some definite Saaz hoppiness. Some honey sweetness finds its way into the back end along with some crackers and breadsticks. Very solid brewpub pilsner - lot of character. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 12, 2008 Cask at the brewpub. Pour a thick light straw gold with a creamy white head. Pours golden with good size white head.
Taste and aroma are both sweet for a pislner.
Good balance of malt and hops, leaving a mouthfeel that does not have any metallic aftertaste that seems to plague so many pilsners.
Highly drinkable, very refreshing beer. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 29, 2008 Tap. Pours a clear golden with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of floral and spicy hops with a good dose of sweet malt and a hint of DMS. Taste is the same as aroma with tons of sweet pilsner malt. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. A damn fine brew.
