Sample at brewpub. Pours a nice deep dark ambery brown not quite black- great lasting head. Aroma is sharp roasted malts lots of roasted nuts, and a good chocolate donut aroma. flavor is a bit syrupy sweet at first but dries out and becomes a nutty dried light burnt toast and chocolate character- with a roasted finish- pretty smooth overall. Nice.

Appetizing near black body with a thin head. Rich chocolate nose with a light French roast note. Smooth, creamy body with some burnt fruit, coffee. The alcohol comes in late, drying it out after the sweet chocolatey malts.

Very dark brown with auburn highlights. Faint lacing. Above average carbonation. Roasty and chocolate. Fine to drink though basic for the style. Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub.

On nitro tap at the brewpub in Tampa Bay. Poured a deep black color with a creamy, one finger brown head. The aroma was of dark fruit and bitter chocolate. The flavor was vanilla, roasted malt, coffee and a slight chocolate finish. The palate was excellent on this one, with a velvet mouthfeel, soft carbonation and a full body. I was pleased with this one, and a few minor tweaks could make it great.

Sample @ brewpub. Thick dark black with rich tan head. Brownies with some peanut butter. The peanut smell is a little off-putting. Smooth, creamy, silky velvet texture. Really thick and assertive without being in your face. Nice boozy kick at the end and the vanilla flavors kick in too. Dessert-like and would pair well with cheesecake. Mellow and smooth.

Draft at the brewpub with Beerlando. Pours black with a chocolate milk colored head and very sticky lacing. The aroma is smokey, chocolate and not very sweet. Mouthfeel is substantial and sticky. Flavor is smooth and easy drinking with cocoa, coffee and not a lot of sweetness. Good stout.

Draft at the brewpub, labeled as 8.0% ABV. Pours nearly black, with just a faint hint of mahogany at the edges. A lasting, thick, mocha colored head leaves dense rings of lacing on the glass. Aromas of bold, bittersweet dark chocolate and burnt caramel are deepened with notes of ripe fig and raisin. Flavors follow suit, nice and chocolaty, with a good amount of sweet caramel and sweet mocha. Dark, sweet fruit notes bridge the gap to an earthen, hoppy finish. Thick and syrupy on the palate, the obviously high sugar content leaves a sticky film in the mouth. This is a good imperial stout, but I prefer mine with a little more roast to back up the choco-caramel sweetness.
