| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Nearly opaque dark brown pour...big thick tan head. Lotsa roasty malt, coffeish, some chocolate in the aroma. Flavor was equally roasty, medium bodied....creamy mouthfeel. Light bitterness in the finish. Not my favorite ale there, but a good one. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Ultra dark brown, thick tanned head. Nose on this one was all about chocolate, dark roasted coffee and cream, toasted brown sugar, with a slight vanilla bean tone hidden below. Flavor was similar, well balanced, yet nicely hopped on the backside to round it out. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, velvety, smooth roasted finish. Really nice session brew....

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Draft... Sparkling clear, very dark, crimson brew with a large khaki head. Cirrus lacing. The aroma is of cocoa, vanilla, caramel and coffee. A little thin, but well-bittered. Medium-bodied and fizzy. Short, crisp, clean finish. Grassy at the wee end.
