Dark brown. The aroma is light coffee, accented by chocolate malt. Coffeeish, chocolatey palate with an interesting orangey note towards the dry, breadcrusty finish.

(11/26/04) Aroma is moderately sweet, roasty, chocolate, coffee. Taste is medium sweet, roasty, coffee, some chocolate, light grapefruit. Watery light-medium body. (6/3/6/3/12) (7/7/03) Black with small creamy tan head. Aroma is medium sweet roasty coffee. Taste is too sweet, roasty, coffee, finishing coffee bitter. Medium body -- lighter than other "London Porters" I’ve tried. (6/4/4/2/9)

Draft... Sparkling clear, very dark, crimson brew with a large khaki head. Cirrus lacing. The aroma is of cocoa, vanilla, caramel and coffee. A little thin, but well-bittered. Medium-bodied and fizzy. Short, crisp, clean finish. Grassy at the wee end.

On tap at the brewpub 1/1/07: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a nicely-lacing, wispy light tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel and chocolately malts with a touch of roastiness. Body starts sweet and milk chocolatey with nice roasty coffee flavor for balance and a touch of biting carbonation before a thinner finish.

Draft at brewpub. Pours a brown color with a moderate off-white head that was lasting and produced great lacing. Good roasted malt and caramel aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Good sweet roasted malt flavor with solid finish. Good brew.

Tap at brewery: Deep brown hue with a creamy pale brown head and very good sticky lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, vanilla, walnut, slight smoke, fig, and herbal esters. The taste starts with sweet mocha along with some coffee and nutty notes, slight forward but nice flavor profile. The mouth feel is medium-bodied with a creamy soft character, dry finish. A really nice porter and the best I had from TBBC, got a 2nd.
