Dark copper pour, slightly hazy, with a silky tall white head, I can hear the carbonation popping as I lift the glass to my nose. Aroma is teeming with fresh grapefruit and pine needles, and enough malt to be noticeable and complimentary. Flavor is much the same, though less expressive. The mouthfeel is medium density, crisp and lively, probably due to less malt than the average double IPA they claim it to be. Finishes smooth and medium dry, but short. The aroma is the shining star in this beer. Well done, easy drinker. jhliesen (406), West Melbourne, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Draft--Cloudy copper with not head, must have been removed. Wonderful hoppy and citrus aroma. Gotta go with the bitter start and malty finish. Light carbonation. Nice. $4.00 redlight (1497), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Hoppy, crisp, some grass notes, and still taste some good malts in there. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2005 Hop is big in the aroma followed by some citrusy sweetness. More hops in the initial sip. More of a malt profile than the Two red Eyes Ale I had before it. Bitter grapefruit and malt sweetness with a buncha hops int he finish. Not a bad sipping beer. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 4, 2005 Draft - this version was an 8% I-IPA. Dark copper, thin white head (I think - it was kinda dark in there) Loads of bitter white grapefruit, some caramel, and a hint of fuzzy fruit. Bitter up front with a decent sweet malt backing throughout. Medium to full bodied, light carbonation, drying bitter finish. Thanks for the special hook ups Dave. Great brew.....

Lots of grapefruit and a touch of apricot in the nose. Malty flavor, but also citrusy and bitter. The stuff I sampled was a special batch of Impy IPA, weighing in at 8% ABV. An accident, but a wonderful one. World class stuff! matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

The pour is an amazing copper/amber with a bountiful frothy head. The palate is a silky & oily. The flavor has grapefruit cloaked around it with a nearly perfect bitter/sweet finish. I had this both hand pulled on cask, as well as on draft, the cask pulled was/is absolutely marvelous!
