Commercial Description:
Brewed as a traditional India Pale Ale. A highly hopped, medium-bodied, higher alcohol ale. This is a true hop-head beer. Generous portions of Northern Brewer, Centennial and Cascade hops complete this beer.

Tap at the brewery. Pours to a glowing orange amber body with a dense sheet lacing and a thin white head. The flavor is quite bitter with some grassyness and herbal hops. Some oranges and grass on the nose. Pale malts. The palate is quite bitter and unbalanced. It’s a drinkable beer, however. Leaves my mouth watering.

Had it on cask at TBBC. This IPA disappointed me a bit. It was a bit weak on hop flavor and it drags its nail down my throat on the finish. Bitter, but unbalanced. Hoppy aroma, but for an 80 IBU I want more.

I expected more from this IPA. The selection of hops are of the less aromatic variety. Not much in the nose. Light citrus. Not floral or herbal hoppiness. The darker beers were much better.

On tap at brewery on 4/5/08. Pours a cloudy golden brown with a thin white, quickly dissipating head. Aroma: hints of citrus and caramel, hops. Taste: Slightly sweet and spicy, with hints of complex cheeses. Slightly bitter, hoppy finish.

Tap at brewery: Clean golden hue with very good head and lace. The aroma has notes of herbal and grassy hops, hint of pine, slight pepper, bready malts, mango and pear esters, band-aid and catty as well. The taste is bitter and has slight acidity over a base of bready grains and a hint of hop spice upon the finish. The mouth feel is sharp and refreshing, dry metallic finish. Serviceable but needs more kick.

Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Woodsy, floral, citrus aroma with pot tones. Woodsy, citrus, light caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Citrus lingering with wood turning to a bit of twiggy pine. Disapointing. Needs more bitterness.

On tap at TBBC. Poured a golden amber color, with little foamy white head. Nice, prominent sticky lacing. Aromas of piney hops, grapefruit, slight brown sugar. Piney flavors hit the mouth, acidic hops, citrus. Nice malty finish. Sticky mouthfeel, medium body, bitter end. Enjoyable.

On tap at TBBC. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium creamy white head that laced. Aroma of fresh American hops, pine, mixed citrus and caramel malt. Flavor was piney, grapefruit, caramel with a decent touch of hop bitterness.
