This is the beefed up version of the Redeye, and let me tell you it was a treat. Poured amber with a ruby red glow and an off white head. Aroma was sweet citrus notes and gummi worms. The citrus was mostly orange complimented by good hop character. Flavor was heavily malted with good orange citrus character. Sweet orange with hints of lemon provided a 3F Brian Boru taste. Milky and malty. Just pure quality. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2006 Pours a dark red, nice frothy white head, served in a 10oz. glass. This really an obviously was just like the red eye ale, which is also like the two red eyes and then this is like the grandfather of those 2 it just has more alcohol. Very bitter, just a straight alcohol hoppy bitter taste, it didn’t taste too bad but it just didn’t have much else going on but that, I really don’t know what else to say. If you’ve had the red eye ale this is it with more alcohol. It’s just not my style, but it’s cool that they did it. Earlier Rating: 7/26/2005 Total Score: 2 I dont really like the red eye ale, and well with more alcohol (7/7%) it made it taste even worse. But it’s not that bad. kreepindeth (405), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2006 The beer I had was called "Double Red Eye Ale" and was 9.0% ABV. Very deep, dark red in color looks like it has black trim in low light. TAste was very complex, lots of stuff going on. Fruity esters, caramel, and some alchol. Has a nice hopppy bite that is not overpowering. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2005 Very hoppy aroma. Copper/amber color. Huge hops in the initial sip followed by some mild citrus flavors and finished by more hops. It is a bit out of balance to my palate. BrockLanders (750), Panama City, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Draft at the brewery. Appears to be quite translucent stained a deep copper with a medium sized white head. The nose is of caramel, fruits (citrus..pick one), and apples. Taste is nice...some alcohol strength with a nice malt ’bone, and big hops to provide a nice balance. Medium bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Finish is dry and bitter. Well done! I liked this one.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Draft - Deep amber, creamy white head. This one bellowed out aromas of sweet grapefruit, orange zest, rich caramel, pine, with a slight hint of pineapple. Huge sweet malt backbone is interwoven nicely with the piney / citric hops. Full bodied, prickly carbonation, bitter dry finish. Great brew....

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2005 This is a monster of a beer!
The body is a robust amber hue and the head is a fluffy white mound. The aroma and flavor first hint towards a massive dosing of malt. Large notes of caramel, plums, pears, and hints of brown sugar, followed up with a great citrus orangey-ness, plus hints of red apple & smaller notes of pineapple. This was a tremendous balance of malt and hops… I truly enjoyed partaking in this syrupy but drinkable hop creation!
