(On tap) Beautiful, clear, dark amber with a delicate, creamy, beige head. Aroma of caramel and nuts. Very full-bodied, lots of roasted and caramel malt. Markedly bitter, a not so refined bitter finish. But definitely a solid brew. 040406

Draft... This beer rocks!... Clear, deep copper ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Tons of caramel, toffee and grapefruit in the nose. Huge flavor with intense bitterness stacked upon a sturdy caramel malt foundation. Very malty-sweet, but even more so bitter. Malt! Malt! Malt! HOPS! HOPS! HOPS!... with a strong suggestion of alcohol. Thick-bodied and syrupy with moderate carbonation. Lengthy, sweet and then bitter-warming-dry finish. Straight forward; not complex; intense. World class brew!

Draft... Crystal clear, copper ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Thick, cumulus lace. The nose is of caramel, citrus fruit, and pineapple with a whisper of juniper. Well-balanced. Big malt, but big hops to match. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter then forever dry finish. Well done!

On tap at the brewpub in Ybor City. Dark amber pour with a decently thick off-white head that leaves a nice coat of lacing. Musky aroma with some brown sugar and pine sap. Served at room temperature, which is appropriate. Flavor has some brown sugar, maple syrup, hint of nectarines, and a wee bit of citrus to keep it honest. Nice, thick, rich mouthfeel. Enjoyed this one.

Had this back in mid June and it seems very much like an alias for Two Red Eyes.

Poured up in a goblet glass with deep amber body and thin dark tan head. The aroma is caramel mixing with malt along with mild pine hops and faint floral and spice hoppiness. The taste is full and rich malts to start creating a lip smackin’ chewy maltiness couple with cherry, apricot and plum fruity esters. I also get a note of caramel that shows up about midway and joined by a growing level of pine hop bitterness. As the finish approaches most of the caramel and maltiness drops off leaving a pine hop and floral to spice hop bitterness behind. There is a roasty component that hangs on into the after taste. A hint of oxidation also showed up from time to time too. Tasty chewy brew.

Served up in a goblet at the brewery. Pours a crystal clear amber with lasting quarter inch tan head. Nice lacing too. The aroma is sweet like hard sugary caramel candy and also creamy soft velvety caramel candy. Overall the aroma is on the light side. Big caramel candy taste that jumps out first. Then can sugar seems to build some distracting from the experience. There’s also a pine hop bitterness that cuts through the sweet caramelly malts creating a nice balance. If they had this as a standard tap offering I’d drink some at every visit.

The aroma is strong with sweet caramel, hops, and alcohol. The appearance is deep amber with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma, with an emphasis on bitter. The palate is smooth. Overall a good beer.

Tap at the brewery. Significantly darker than the standard Redeye. The lacing is better and the head color is off-white. More hops show up in the aroma. Maltier and more robust too. This beer is what the stock version should be. Nice bitterness and medium body. A totally different experience!

Very hoppy aroma. Copper/amber color. Huge hops in the initial sip followed by some mild citrus flavors and finished by more hops. It is a bit out of balance to my palate.
