Commercial Description:
This is a traditional German wheat beer made using 60% German Wheat and 40% German Pilsner malt. The distinction is in the aroma and flavor clove / banana in the nose, slight sourness in the flavor. There are three versions of this weizen brewed yearly.

Hazy Blonde/Golden in color. Aroma is banana esters/bubblegum, clove, and a nice dose of wheat. Taste is a nice balance between banana and clove, with a creamy body that makes this balanced and very easy to drink. Finishes spicy with lingering fruity esters and a good amount of wheat tang.

[933-20071206] Tap @ Tampa Bay Brewpub (Tampa, FL). Banana and clove aroma. Hazy, pale yellow body with a long-lasting creamy white head. More banana clove in the flavour. Light body. Interesting.

On tap at Tampa Bay Brewing Company. This is an underrated hefe. The brewery makes two versions of this beer, a spring/summer brew and a fall/winter brew with extra wheat. I had the latter, and the wheat is easily noticeable but the beer remains smooth. It is very clean and doesn’t overdo it. I would have this beer anytime.

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a cloudy hay color with a white pillowy head.Aromas of wheat, citrus and bananas. flavor of the same. This was one of the better American hefeweizen I’ve had. This quite refreshing and finished clean with nothing left lingering.

Tap. Pours a hazy pale golden with a two finger mostly lasting head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of banana, wheat, light citrus, and light clove. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium creamy mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and slightly tart finish. Very good.

I love hefeweizens, but I couldn’t drink this one. Tasted like hot dog water. And everybody at the table that had a sip agreed with me. Blech! It sat half-finished before ordering something else.

Draft... Murky straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Spicy, fruity nose with notes of Bazooka® bubblegum, lemon, under ripe banana, smoke and lots of clove. The flavor is mainly tart with lemon and quite spicy with a heavy clove phenol. Medium-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and restrained carbonation. Tangy, spicy finish.
