Commercial Description:
This is a traditional German wheat beer made using 60% German Wheat and 40% German Pilsner malt. The distinction is in the aroma and flavor clove / banana in the nose, slight sourness in the flavor. There are three versions of this weizen brewed yearly.

Pours a cloudy, light pale gold, with a small white head. Nice lacing left on the glass. Very sharp spicy citrus aroma, some nutmeg, wheat, and orange all seem to mesh pretty well here. Good start. The taste seems to be really well balanced with a good dose of some banana, wheat, and spices. The nutmeg really shows up in the finish and lingers in the aftertaste. i thought this was a really well done German wheat beer. Bravo.

Draught at brewpub. Very banana aroma. Smells the part. Pale, hazy yellow. Good-sized white head. Not orange as a good weissbier should be. Excellent lace. Pretty good. Wheaty. Tastes as it smells. Doughy. Has a slight bad breath finish, but in a good way. A strong effort on a German style by an American brewer. Underrated.

On tap at the brewpub 1/1/07: Pours a cloudy pale golden with a frothy, well-lacing white head. Nice banana and mild citrus wheaty aroma. Body starts with pleasant malted wheat and clove spice balanced with a mild, authentic German hoppy bitterness and bready yeasty character. A good Hefeweizen.

Draft at the brewpup. This one surprised me. Nice cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Nice lacing on the glass as well. Aroma of wheat, citrus and pine. Fore is citrus, wheat and malt. Finish is wheat with a nice flavor at the end that I was never able to quite pinpoint. Very much surprised by this one. Good brew.

On tap at the brewpub in Ybor City (Tampa). Pale golden, white head - good lace. Lemony aroma. Some bubble gum and a hint of bananas. Light, thin mouthfeel. Not the best hefe.

It tastes like the water that’s left over after having just boiled hotdogs. Undrinkable beyond the first few sips

Draft. Pours light golden with a medium sized white head and a lot of carbonation. Smell is very citrusy with lemons predominating. Taste is lemony and citrus as well but is quite weak and watery. This is a nice light beer but I craved a little more flavor and strength.
