Had a "shortie" - 3oz sampler. Poured a very clear, bright gold with orange highlights and a very thin, nearly-white head. The aroma was full with a hoppy bouquet of citrus and a touch of sweet malts. The flavor was hoppy/citrusy up-front with a pleasant crystal malt residual sweetness. The bitterness was light with spicy and citrus notes in the finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body with a somewhat dry finish and low carbonation. Considering that this beer was definitely not very strong (beer menu didn’t say, but it tasted soft like an English Best Bitter), the bar was charging way too much for a pint ($10). Were it session beer price, it would have made it for an excellent session beer. An American twist on the best bitter - with a touch more residual sweetness, less toasty/breadiness, and a distinct American hop citrus character. Overall, a tasty, drinkable pale ale.
