brewyank (1), Mechanicsville, Virginia, USA does not count Jul 3, 2007 Probably one of the best pale ales I have ever had, and I have had plenty.
Great aftertaste. Goes down very smooth. No harsh aftertaste. obguthr (707), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Sep 4, 2007 NIce caramel and hop aroma, slightly smoky. Hazy copper color, medium off white head, good lacing. Ashy hop flavor with a lemon twist. Bark and hop finish. Very well balanced. It’s rather earthy which I really like. JorisPPattyn (4499), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 24, 2008 Good head, creamy, over copper-chestnut beer. US hops, with some chestnut or nutflour malts’ balance. Quite sweet, again nutty - oxydized notes, but pleasing, malts; toffee apparent. Too sticky, too much restsugars to have a pleasing body and texture. If it’s a pre-Prohibition thing, I’m not even guessing about the style. kwoeltje (1220), Manchester, Missouri, USA Aug 5, 2008 (12 oz bottle) amber orange with off white head. Floral hops aroma. Flavor is slightly bready malt with a lovely pine hops finish. Rynoplasty (234), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 11, 2007 Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma is hoppy and faintly malty. Taste is pretty good for 5.99 a six pack at the grocery store, which I am starting to think is why some of there beers get such bad ratings, with a good balance of malt and hops and a nice hoppy finish that isn’t too strong. For the price not bad at all.
