muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jun 7, 2007 Draught 1/2 pint at the brewpub,(May 2007), as "St Croix Bitter". Dark amber-copper with a bit of head and lacing....unpleasant cidery-grapy aroma gets progressively more lactic-tart as it warms, precious little "beer" quality....fairly grotesque combination of caramel and cooked vegetable character greets the tongue, a bit burnt and salty as well....low carbonation, syrupy, underfermented, just bad. 500TH CANADIAN BEER RATED! WOO HOO CAN I GET SOME CELINE DION TO CELEBRATE? OKBeer (1104), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada May 4, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Red amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. Caramel, bread, and fruity aroma with some butterscotch notes. Caramel, orange, and bready malt flavours with a lightly fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied, juicy mouthfeel. Decent bitter. jerc (3102), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 1, 2006 Draft as St. Croix Bitter. Orangey amber body, with a small white head and decent lacing. Sweet-floral fruity aroma with light notes of citrusy hops. Flavour has pleasnt mild hoppy bitterness, and just enough orangey citrus hops to be interesting. Average palate. Their best by far. beerbuzzmontreal (2697), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 10, 2005 Clear copper color with a ring of white lace. Mild aroma of hops. Ordinary flavor of hops with a mild bitter finish. albert_007 (409), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada Jul 14, 2002 Updated: Feb 16, 2007The right amount of bitter and hoppiness that I like. Good head, and nice lacing as well. A great summer drinker. Very nice amber color too.
