On tap at brewery 12/26/07. Called a Belgian triple with 9.3% abv by bartender. Cloudy amber, big head. Aroma of citrus, amber malt. Rich and strong alcohol is prominant at first and in finish. Also sweet amber malts, strong candy sugar, medicinal notes - not very smooth overall.

Draft. Orange pour with a thin film on top. Lots of clove in the aroma. The flavor is also dominated by the clove and banana, with some sweet malt undertones. Too much spice in this one to taste much else, and the malt reminded me of something artificially sweetened. Below average for the style.

My roommates picked up a growler of this for me. So I am going off of what they told me, but apparently this is the 500th batch of beer that has been produced here. I wrote an email and asked for a commercial description, but have not heard back, but for all intents and purposes, this tasted like a Belgian Strong Ale. Anyways, this one pours orange and cloudy with brown and red undertones. No head. Aroma of clove and banana esters accompanied by some tart wheatiness, spices, and some alcohol. The flavor tastes like a mix between a Belgian Strong with spice and candy sweetness and a strong German Hefe with clove and banana notes, all tied together by a strong alcoholic burn in the background. The finish contains touches of light orange notes, alcohol, and a mild astringency. Interesting brew.
