Great hop aroma, lots of grapefruit, very pungent, but in a good way. Flavor was much the same, more grapefruit, very silky and smooth. Very well done. chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA

Flavor is similar: nice hops and aftertaste of subtle carmel malt. Nothing really amazing, but a good beer, none the less. A decent pale ale (i think Stone’s Pale Ale is better). badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2004 On cask: I thought this was one of the better APA's I've ever tasted. Pours a nice amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is actually hoppy and I love it. I just wanted to smell this beer for hours...but I had to actually drink it ;-) Flavor is very nice. A nice amount of bitterness for an APA. Like an IPA but a little more muted but still retains the characteristics that make an APA a great style on its own. A truly great beer.
