Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Apr 23, 2009 Cask at the brew pub. Hazy gold/straw color with a big creamy white head. Great hop aroma, lots of grapefruit, very pungent, but in a good way. Flavor was much the same, more grapefruit, very silky and smooth. Very well done. chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 Pours amber brown with thin white head. Aroma is mellow and nice balance of hops and malt. Flavor is similar: nice hops and aftertaste of subtle carmel malt. Nothing really amazing, but a good beer, none the less. A decent pale ale (i think Stone’s Pale Ale is better). badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 22, 2008 ON tap at brewery. Clear yellow with a creamy white head. Citrus and pine aroma. Crisp citrus and malty taste with very little bitterness. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Feb 7, 2008 Poured golden amber. Small head. Floral and citrus aromas. Hops upfront. Pretty floral with balanced caramel malts backing it up. A very drinkable session APA. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA Aug 18, 2006 On tap poured a slightly hazy pale/red color with a small head. Nice hop aroma and a good balance of bitterness and carmel malt sweetness. Overall a good American Pale, but maybe a little more hops. anaheim1983 (111), Anaheim, California, USA Jan 9, 2006 Most excellent Pale Ale..golden copper like a B.U. plder penny penny.perfect white head very nice white lace aroma hung on for ever. Perfect balance of hops. Excellent palate unclebleen (620), California, USA Apr 10, 2004 On cask: I thought this was one of the better APA's I've ever tasted. Pours a nice amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is actually hoppy and I love it. I just wanted to smell this beer for hours...but I had to actually drink it ;-) Flavor is very nice. A nice amount of bitterness for an APA. Like an IPA but a little more muted but still retains the characteristics that make an APA a great style on its own. A truly great beer. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jan 24, 2004 Nice hoppy nose, well balanced, went well w/ the ceviche I had. I think that this was a pretty well done APA.
