Aroma was of wheat and classic hefe yeast. Taste is yeasty with a classic banana and clove. Overall a nice example of the style. CaptainCougar (5488), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma is very authentic with lots of sweet banana and clove with a touch of lemony citrus. Body starts with nice wheaty, bready, and yeasty sweetness balanced with a touch of tartness and noble hoppiness in the smooth, crisp, bittersweet finish. A very good example of the style, especially from an American brewer. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2005 Clouded orange appearance. Distinct banana aroma. Definitive banana yeast flavor, but very well balanced by lemony citrus, clove and a slight grainy malt. Lingers sweet banana in the aftertaste. Well balanced, highly flavored version of a Bavarian hefe. PuckLSHS (101), USA

Maybe it was my strong taste buds, but this Hef tasted more like a banana Jolly Rancher than a beer. Clear texture and very light pour left me wondering where I could get rid of the rest. The style is completely Bavarian but does not match my palate for that style. If one does not like Banana’s one should stick with the Taps Cream ale for the night. bu11zeye (5475), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma is banana and cloves...just like a hefe should be. Flavor is sweet at first and turns into a nice banana spicy finish. A good hefe. 1more4dessert (231), Upstate, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2004 By far the best Hef I have tried, not that I've tried a hell of a lot. Wonderful banana and clove, almost like a Belgian tripel ultra light in many ways. Maybe I am overrating since I hoofed it 3 miles from the convention center down to the Edison field area for dinner and it really hit the spot Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
