Bottle, 300ml, bottle conditioned. A dark black colour with a large brown head. Strong aromas initially of fresh grassy hops and citrus then evolving into sweet plum and toffee with a touch of malt. The aroma is very fruity and lasts as long as the beer without diminishing one bit. The taste is initially treacle, then very malty with chocolate and toffee. Fairly sweet but not overly so. A quite sweet, strong bitter finish with alcohol evident. Moderate carbonation. This is a good warming ale with an outstanding aroma and flavour; if this was the only beer I could drink for the rest of my life, I would be happy.
