Grainy nose accented by an unpleasant cleaning fluid undertone. Nice palate features good warmth and slightly gritty texture. Fairly rich flavour includes grain, wood, hops and carrot with a plush malt finish. A touch of bitterness would have rounded things out better but okay as is. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 27, 2008 500ml can. Pours golden, lightly carbonated with a tall, disappearing head. The aroma is mainly bread and butter with some lemon. This thing has a pretty light mouthfeel. I taste sour malt sweetness with grass, lemon, water, some metal. Maria (6299), Thisted, Denmark
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Courtesy of Fonefan. It’s golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, light fruit and sweetness. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, caramel, fruit and slightly dry citrus in the finish. rodenbach99 (696), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 15, 2008 I bought this 500ml can at the LCBO in Hawkesbury, Ont., the label (can) says 5,5% alc/vol.
A: suprisingly dark for a pils, golden almost copper, no head wharsoever.
S: this beer smells fresh, some malt, no hops
T: classic industrial pilsner taste, round, almost sweet, some malt,
M: medium-bodied, missing the cleaniness
D: I won’t this one again, much better pale lager are on the marketfor the same price (2,05$). TheJester (716), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 15, 2008 500 mL can. Orange-yellow with a short-lived white head. Mild malty-grassy aroma. Mild, sweet flavour, with not enough body to hide the hint of alcohol at the end. No hops to speak of. Thin body. Don’t see how they can call this a pilsner. No need to return to this one. | 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Oct 10, 2008 can: Well, I first thought this was called Tantra, which might explain the foul yeasty smell (sorry, but I hate this beer). It comes in this golden can like a shining lighthouse, and a healthy, rugged mountain dude on the front . . . but then it sucks. No lacing, cheap grainy flavour. If this were a sweater, you could feel the fabric disintegrating as you wear it. You could literally drink a 6 pack of cans in minutes when ice cold as there is nothing to it. I had a real soft spot for this a LONG while back, full bodied & well hopped according to my notes. I remember sucking a few of these out of their bottles on the way to the train after a beer festival in (I think it was Lorimer & Clarks Brewery, before it became Caledonian) Edinburgh.
