Fairly sweet, pilsner-like aroma, with a touch of vinegar skank. Tecate tastes like cheap, watered-down pilsner with a little stale lager thrown in to add some bitterness. I used to like this beer, but perhaps it has declined over time. This is worse than most American macros - it should have been turned back at the border. | 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Went to a nice fiesta, and Tecate was the lesser of the evils. A dull piss yellow, smelled like ashes and piss, tasted like stale beer, and only the second one with a lemon helped it any. Pinball (2991), Allerød, Denmark

| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Oct 11, 2008 Straw blonde body with an effervescent head, more like ginger ale, little aroma to note, flavor built around straw, excessive carbonation, modest malt. Refrshing, but less so than soda water. There are far better Mexican lagers to accompany tacos, etc. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 7, 2008 Clear golden in color with a small white head. Fresh and citrusy with a dry finish. Not bad and nice with limes during a baseball game. douglas88 (1648), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 1, 2008 22oz can bought at Smiths. Pours a clear golden hue with a small white head. A decent aroma of corn and sweet malts. The flavor is decent; lots of sweet malt, straw and corn. A light hops perhaps in the finish. Not bad at all, but not good either. Just a OK drinkable lager. thooper41 (386), Oregon, USA
