Pours with a pretty ok head but that’s about all it looks like. The taste is fairly standard amongst mexican lager, dry but not without the sweet flavour of corn. Overall it is ok, but certinally not amazing. ansermadide (512), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Wow... I can’t believe I’m rating Tecate. Although, being one of my favorite of the popular Mexican lagers (this and Dos Equis), this one deserves it. Drank my last one out of a 12oz can last night. Two, really. Too easy to drink an entire 12 ounces and you don’t even realize it. This beer wasn’t brewed to play tricks on your palate or overwhelm your taste buds. It serves really one purpose: to be consumed, and so that you .5 ounces of alcohol per can be downed easily enough, one after the other, to have some effect. Did that make any sense? Cooler than the American lagers, fo sho. It’s always good rebelling by drinking a brew from acros the border. Hey, is it just me, or do most of the higher scores seem to come from the border states? hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA

I poured in a glass and drank with some baked ziti. Pretty standard pale lager. The one thing that I liked was that it was not too fruity or sweet. ELab2 (38), USA

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Poured a clear, golden color with a frothy white head. The nose was malty sweet, crisp and clean. The taste was sweet with corn with thin malts near the top. The finish was very acidic. The hops fail to give proper balance and in the end its rather astringic. If it doesn’t finish well your not going to go back for another sip. So I won’t. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Maybe it is just the fact that I have lived in AZ all my life, and the Mexican beers are WIDELY available and WILDLY popular, but I dont’ have a problem with enjoying the occassional Tecate or Dos Equis. Slap a lime in there and I’m good to go! norsedoc (162), USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Can at Colorado Rapids game. The description of delicious is way off the mark. There’s a little malt present typical of most Mexican lagers. Metallic taste overwhelms the hop flavor. Limes improved the beer.
